The success of the X5 BMW led inevitably to reduce the size of the premium SUV formula to create the X3, but the original and somewhat wide of the mark. Means that the cabin of poor quality, a bumpy road and not much in the way of off-road capability was never quite as good as it should be. Fortunately, the second-generation version of a different beast.
Abroad is slicker and much more in line with the look of the family, with the end of the X5 such as the background and a greater presence from the front. The result is a car that no longer seem to apologize for itself and fits in with the sharp designs elsewhere in the stable.
The same applies to the interior, where the cabin now has a worthy X3 BMW in terms of quality and design. There iDrive controller and complete, and clear display, dual-zone climate control and leather trim as standard, all of which help to develop a distinct mark in the boxes. Arguably the most impressive is the amount of space, with modest increases in external dimensions resulting in a hut far more extensive. The size of the boot too, even before the 70 liters useful.
Where X3 really takes great strides in the way that leads.
